Qualido - King of the Bongo

Qualido – King of the Bongo follows three young climbers—Matteo De Zaiacomo, Paolo Marazzi, and Luca Schiera—as they take on the steep East Face of Qualido with a bold, clear idea and plenty of doubt: to open a new route without relying on bolts. Set in the fading heat of late summer, the film traces their slow, methodical progress in 2014, moving upward meter by meter through commitment and uncertainty, with Richard Felderer capturing the effort from the wall as both cameraman and photographer. Regia di Richard Felderer Nelle battute conclusive di una calda estate i giovani Matteo De Zaiacomo, Paolo Marazzi e Luca Schiera, risalgono la ripida val Qualido con un idea chiara nata dall'intuizione di Luca, ma con tantissimi dubbi. Aprire una nuova via sulla parete Est del Qualido senza usare spit era la sfida che i tre si erano posti. È il 2014 quando iniziano a salire un metro alla volta l'impressionante parete del Qualido e ad ogni successo si faceva largo la grande speranza di poterla salire anche in libera. Paolo cantava allegramente “King of the bongo” di Manu Chao ad ogni sosta tanta era la soddisfazione di veder prender forma un sogno. Si dovette però aspettare la stagione successiva, ovvero l'estate 2015 per concretizzare la salita in libera di tutta la via. Il ragno Riky felderer, nelle vesti professionali di fotografo e cameraman, ha impavidamente seguito il trio sulla via, e racconta in questo filmato di questa bella avventura di amicizia e grande scalata.
